The Denver Broncos are undergoing a serious makeover this offseason. Head coach Sean Payton is hard at work putting his stamp on the roster, starting with a ton of work on the offensive side of the ball. Denver's most recent move saw the team part ways with one of the members of their quarterback room.

According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Broncos have released quarterback Ben DiNucci.

DiNucci played three games for the Cowboys in 2020 and then bounced around to multiple teams before having an impressive season with the XFL's Seattle Sea Dragons. He then accepted a minicamp tryout in Denver, but was ultimately cut.

The Broncos have made a concerted effort to overhaul their quarterback room this offseason. Their biggest move was releasing Russell Wilson. Denver sent a significant trade package to the Seattle Seahawks a few years ago to acquire Wilson but he never panned out with the Broncos. The former franchise QB signed a lucrative contract extension with the Broncos that technically kicks in this year, the same season he was cut. Wilson is on Denver's books for $53 million against the cap in 2024.

Before the 2024 NFL Draft, the Broncos made a trade for former Jets QB Zach Wilson. He came cheap and provides QB depth.

The Broncos drafted Bo Nix with the 12th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jarrett Stidham remains on the roster as well. He started two games down the stretch in 2023 after Denver decided to preserve Russell Wilson's health ahead of possible trade talks.

As we inch towards the NFL's offseason programs, the Broncos' starter looks like Bo Nix. Stidham projects at QB2 and Wilson as the emergency plan. It isn't a sexy QB situation, but the Broncos have done what they can considering their cap limitations.

Bo Nix is entering the NFL with some serious expectations. Sean Payton is looking to boost his team's performance after a sub .500 season in 2023.

The Russell Wilson trade failing to pan out is a real progress stopper for Denver. In two seasons with the team, Wilson logged 6,594 passing yards, 42 TDs, and 19 INTs. Denver had a record of 11-19 during Wilson's tenure with the team. Bo Nix is expected to surpass every one of these figures, and the roster is set up to make that possible during his rookie year.

Denver has made several moves this offseason in an effort to set their new QB up for success in year one. During free agency, the team signed Josh Reynolds from Detroit and added several depth pieces on the offensive line. They also added reinforcements on the defensive line and in the secondary.

Bo Nix will have a variety of weapons to choose from. Denver's top three running backs (Williams, Perine, McLaughlin) all return in addition to rookie Audric Estime. The receiver room is headlined by Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims Jr., Josh Reynolds, and rookie Troy Franklin.

Denver is expected to have a starting offensive line consisting of Garrett Boles, Ben Powers, Luke Wattenberg, Quinn Meinerz, and Mike McGlinchey.

According to multiple sportsbooks, Denver's over/under win total for the 2024 season is currently 5.5 wins. Denver will need to surpass this win total if they want fans to view the 2024 season as a success.
