The Roast of Tom Brady was an event like no other. The three-hour show featured a laundry list of former New England Patriots and celebrities cracking jokes at the greatest quarterback of all time. Since the event focused on the majority of Brady's career, there wasn't as much attention paid to his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Head coach Todd Bowles recently shared his thoughts on The Roast of Tom Brady and revealed his favorite roaster.

On a recent episode of The Rich Eisen Show, the Buccaneers' head coach revealed that he hasn't yet had a chance to watch the roast. However, he's a huge Nikki Glaser fan and expects to enjoy watching her roast NFL figureheads.

“I caught snippets of it,” Bowles said. “I’m a huge Nikki Glaser fan, and I try to watch any roast that involves her, unfortunately I missed it that night, but I’m going to catch up with it this weekend.”

It is surprising to learn that the level-headed coach is a huge fan of a vulgar comedian like Nikki Glaser.

“I’m a huge Nikki Glaser fan,” Bowles continued. “Any roast she’s on, I’m watching.”

Todd Bowles was Brady's head coach during the QB's short stint with the Buccaneers. By not being at the event, Bowles avoided being roasted by his favorite comedian. Brady's other coach, Bill Belichick, was in attendance and was roasted by comedians and former NFL players, including Tom Brady himself.

The Roast of Tom Brady featured a huge cast of comedians, celebrities, and NFL figures. The roasting was not limited to Tom Brady as it seemed fair game to target any of the famous people in attendance at the event.

Highlights from The Roast of Tom Brady

Here is a roundup of some of the best highlights from the evening.

On Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen's divorce

“Gisele gave you an ultimatum,” host Kevin Hart. “She said you have to retire or you're done. But when you have a chance to go 8-9 you gotta do it.”

Julian Edelman, Drew Bledsoe roasted Bill Belichick about not having a coaching job

“Do your job? More like, need a job, coach.” Edelman joked.

“There were rumors Coach Belichick was gonna be here tonight,” Bledsoe said. “Turns out he has some time on his hands. Look, at least when I was fired somebody else wanted me.”

Jokes about Gronk

Bill Belichick poked fun at Gronkowski's broadcasting gig on FOX.

Tom Brady also made a jab at both Gronk and Aaron Hernandez. Gronkowski and Brady played together both with the Patriots and Buccaneers.

“Despite everything we’ve seen here tonight, Gronk was actually useful on the field,” Brady said. “Although the bar for Patriots tight ends was pretty low back then: block, catch, don’t murder.”

Brady making jokes about Belichick

Finally, Brady cracked a couple of jokes about his former head coach.

“Everybody asks me which ring is my favorite, I used to say, The next one,'” Brady said. “But now that I am retired, my favorite Ring is the camera that caught Coach Belichick slinking out of that poor girl’s house a few months ago.

“Hey, you still go it. Respect baby.”

The video Brady is referencing is one of Belichick appearing to be caught on camera leaving someone's house. It was leaked late in 2023 and it is unknown when the video was taken.
