In an unfortunate turn of events, Scottie Scheffler's second day in the PGA Tournament has gone awry. The star golfer was arrested following a traffic stop in Valhalla Golf Club gone awry. Much has been made about the dubious circumstances surrounding his arrest. However, golf fans are also wondering: how does this incident affect Scheffler's tournament?

Well, Scheffler's scheduled tee time was initially going to be at around 8:48am. Of course, that isn't going to be feasible now given his situation. According to Michael Eaves, the earliest scheduled tee time now for Scheffler will be at around 10:08AM. That's, of course, if the PGA Tournament crew figures out a solution to this whole mess.

“Scottie Scheffler’s new scheduled tee time is 10:08 AM ET.”

It seems like this tee time should more or less be followed now. NUCLR Golf reported that Scheffler has been released from jail and has arrived at Valhalla Golf Club for the PGA Tournament.

Scheffler was arrested following a traffic misunderstanding near Valhalla Golf Club. The golfer tried to navigate through an accident near the area when he was stopped by the police. After a while, the conversation turned violent, as described by Jeff Darlington.

“After about 20 to 30 seconds, Scheffler rolled down his window to talk to the officer. The officer grabbed Scheffler's arm to pull him out of the vehicle, according to Darlington. The officer reached inside the vehicle to open the door, and once Scheffler was pulled out, he was pushed against the car and placed in handcuffs.”

Scottie Scheffler's PGA Tournament status

Entering Day 2 of the PGA Tournament, Scheffler was tied for 12th in the tournament. Scheffler is ranked number 1 in the world, and is considered a tournament favorite for this day. Other notable participants in the tournament include Tiger Woods and other superstar golfers.

As for Scheffler, it remains to be seen how this incident affects his abilities once he takes the grass again. He's had his moments in the tournament, for sure. That being said, it hasn't been enough to make a dent into the top of the leaderboard. Will this fire up Scheffler, or will this derail his mental game? Only time will tell.
