The PGA Tour is back with another signature event as the players head to Charlotte, North Carolina for the Wells Fargo Championship. Below we will continue our PGA Tour odds series with a Wells Fargo prediction and pick. We will also let you know how to watch the event.

This is a signature event, so there is a limited field. Last season, Wyndham Clark beat the field by four strokes at 19-under par. Clark shot eight-under in the third round of the event to take a commanding lead. He was able to take home the gold because of it.

This year, players do not have to try to be Scottie Scheffler as he is not taking part in the event because of the birth of his first child. There are still great players participating, though. The course is Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. It should play a little easier than some of the other courses on tour, but golfers still need to be at their best.

Favorite Picks for the Wells Fargo Championship

Rory McIlroy: McIlroy is coming off a win at the team play Zurich Classic. He needed it, too. McIlroy has made every cut this season, but that was his first win. Along with that, McIlroy seven top-25 finishes, and two top-10 finishes. He is the favorite to win this event, and it would not be a surprise to see it happen.

Wyndham Clark: Clark is the defending champion of this event, and he is playing very well this season. He is coming off a third-place finish at the RBC Heritage, and he has two other second-place finishes. Clark is second in total strokes gained on tour this season, and he is great on the greens. If Clark is striking the ball well, he is a threat to win any event he participates in.

Max Homa: Homa has made nine of 10 cuts this season, and he has a third-place finish at the Masters under his belt. He followed that up with a not-so-great finish at the RBC Heritage, but he should be able to play well this weekend. Homa needs to be better off the tee, but if he striking his driver well, he will shoot low in this event.

Sleeper Picks for the Wells Fargo Championship

Justin Thomas: Thomas has only made six of his nine cuts this season, but when he makes the cut, he finishes well. He has three top-10 finishes in those made cuts. That includes a fifth-place finish at the RBC Heritage in his last played event. Thomas has a great approach shot, and his putter has been good all season. He does have a tendency to struggle at times, but if he is on, he is going to finish at the top of this leaderboard.

Viktor Hovland: Hovland's odds seem high for this event considering he is a top-10 golfer in the entire world. He is not having a great season in 2024, but he is still seventh in the OWGR. However, his best finish this season is a T19. He struggled at the Masters as he did not make the cut, and Hovland has not teed off since then. Hovland has the ability to win any event he plays in, though. He has taken some time off, so there was plenty of time to work on his game. I expect Hovland to turn his season around in this event.

Final Wells Fargo Championship prediction and pick

This is going to be a fun event to watch. The Wells Fargo Championship seems even more wide open with Scottie Scheffler being out. Because of this, I think there is going to be a little bit of a surprise winner. I say surprise, but this is actually a good golfer. I am going to take Justin Thomas to win the Wells Fargo Championship. When he makes the cut, he finishes high on the leaderboard. For this event, I am taking Justin Thomas to finish at the top of the leaderboard.

Final Wells Fargo Championship prediction and pick: Justin Thomas (+2500)
