The Milwaukee Brewers will continue their three-game series against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field. We're here to share our MLB odds series, make a Brewers-Cubs prediction, and pick while showing you how to watch.

The Brewers came into this series on a high note after winning two of three games against the Tampa Bay Rays. Because of their continued good play, they remained at the top of the National League Central standings.

The Cubs entered this series on a low note, losing two of three games against the New York Mets. Therefore, they dropped to second place before heading into this series.

The winner of this series will claim first place in the NL Central. Significantly, the Brewers went 7-6 against the Cubs last season and hope to win the season series again as the teams meet at Wrigley Field.

Tobias Myers starts for the Brewers. He is 0-1 with a 4.50 ERA. Recently, he went five innings while allowing four earned runs on five hits while striking out five in a no-decision against the New York Yankees. It will be his first time facing the Cubs.

Jameson Taillon is 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA. Amazingly, he went 7 1/3 innings while allowing one earned run on four hits in a no-decision against the New York Mets. Taillon is 3-7 with a 3.36 ERA with one save and 69 strikeouts in 14 appearances against the Brewers.

Why The Brewers Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Brewers are thriving early mainly because they are hitting the ball well. So far, they are fourth in batting average and second in on-base percentage. The Brewers are also fifth in runs, fourth in home runs, and fourth in slugging percentage.

William Contreras has done well against the Cubs, batting .333 with eight RBIs and seven runs over 13 games. Amazingly, he is doing well this season, batting .345 with five home runs, 25 RBIs, and 28 runs this season. Willy Adames is hitting .294 with two RBIs over his past five games against the Cubs. Also, he is batting .278 with six home runs, 21 RBIs, and 18 runs this season. Rhys Hoskins has done well at Wrigley, hitting .270 with two home runs, nine RBIs, and four runs over 10 games at the legendary ballpark.

The Brewers still need to fix their pitching staff. Currently, they are 18th in team ERA. Their bullpen has done slightly better, ranking 13th in the majors.

The Brewers will cover the spread if they can find a way to piece together some early hits. Then, they need Myers to last five innings.

Why The Cubs Will Cover The Spread/Win

The Cubs are not hitting the ball well but still finding ways to score. Somehow, they are 19th in batting average but 13th in on-base percentage. The Cubs are also eight in runs. Yet, they are also 16th in home runs and slugging percentage.

Nico Hoerner needs to produce better numbers against the Brewers. Sadly, he is hitting just .205 with two home runs, 13 RBIs, and 11 runs over 42 games against the Brewers. But Hoerner is batting .271 with seven RBIs and 19 runs this season. Therefore, he is finding ways to score this season. Ian Happ is hitting just .238 with 10 home runs, 37 RBIs, and 40 runs over 93 games against the Brewers. Also, he is batting just .211 with one home run, 12 RBIs, and 17 runs. Christopher Morel is batting .209 with five home runs, 17 RBIs, and 19 runs this season.

The Cubs are just 16th in team ERA. Additionally, they have a 21st-ranked bullpen. The Cubbies will try and find ways to pitch carefully against the best Milwaukee hitters.

The Cubs will cover the spread if they can find ways to generate some scoring early in the game and put the Brewers on their heels. Then, they need Taillon to do well.

Final Brewers-Cubs Prediction & Pick

The Brewers and Cubs always play good games. Therefore, expect this game to be no different as the two NL Central rivals battle for supremacy. Taillon is off to one of the best starts of his career. Ultimately, he is giving the Cubs a good chance to succeed. If he can overcome Contreras, Adames, and Hoskins, the rest of the lineup will not be as dangerous. Expect the Cubs to overcome the Brewers with Taillon leading the charge. The Cubs win this game and cover the spread in front of the faithful at Wrigley.
