As is the stape in most, if not all, RPGs in the market, Stellar Blade also has a fishing mechanic. In this guide, we will teach players how they can unlock fishing, as well as show the locations of all of the fish in Stellar Blade.

Stellar Blade – How To Unlock Fishing

Players are first made aware of the existence of fishing upon visiting the Plant in the Wasteland, where Adam comments that the water in the Plant is clear enough and calm enough to fish in. However, that is not when fishing unlocks.

To unlock fishing, players must first progress enough through the game to reach the Great Desert. Once there, the player must make their way to the Oasis, a large body of water located in the center of the map. By the water’s side, players will notice a hut above the water’s surface.

Approach the hut and talk to the NPC inside: Clyde. Talking to Clyde will give the player some Small Shrimp, and a fishing rod, officially unlocking the ability to fish.

Stellar Blade – How To Fish

Once players receive the fishing rod, they are now ready to fish. To do so, they must hold down the Down arrow on their D-Pad, which brings up the equipment wheel. They must then select the fishing rod to equip it. Once it is equipped, they must then approach a body of water before pressing Down again to ready the fishing rod.

After readying the rod, the player must then pull back the left analog stick, then either release it or push forward to throw their fishing line. They must then wait for a fish to bite, before pressing R2 to start the fishing minigame.

In the fishing minigame, players must turn the left analog stick in the opposite direction that the fish is going in to mimic going fighting against the fish’s pull. They must also be spam press the Square button to deplete the bar. Depleting it to zero will make the fish catchable.

At random intervals of the minigame, and after the fishing bar has been depleted, players will be presented with a bar and a circle with a highlighted area. In this part of the minigame, players must press their R2 button just the right amount to move the arrow around the circle and make it stay in the highlighted area.

Once the player has done all of this, and successfully pulled the fish to their location, they can then press Triangle to fully catch the fish, completing the minigame. Each caught fish will reward the player with Fishing Points, which they can use to buy items such as more bait, data logs, and more.

While fishing, players can also change what bait they are using, with better bait able to catch bigger fish.

Stellar Blade – Fishing Locations Guide

There are a total of five sizes of fish that players can catch in Stellar Blade: Small, Medium, Large, Gigantic, and Jumbo. The better the player’s bait, the larger the fish they can catch.
