After a breakout 2018 season for Chris Carson, the Seattle Seahawks are expecting big things out of the young running back. Last season, Carson rushed 247 times for 1,151 yards and nine touchdowns, and he really took the reins on a backfield that was looking for someone to step up.

Carson is more than just a running back, so let's breakdown four things you should know about him.

Chris Carson, Seahawks

An ACL Injury Cost Him a Chance to Play for the Georgia Bulldogs

Carson was highly recruited coming out of high school and had offers to play at many schools, including Georgia. Carson tore his ACL his senior year of high school and went through a rough patch in his life.

That caused him to lose focus in school, and his grades started to slip. Many schools pulled their scholarship offers, including Georiga.

Carson decided to go the community college route attending Butler (Kansas) Community College. After being a standout at Butler Community College, Carson was still going to go back to Georgia, but he fell in love with Oklahoma State and decided that was the best school for him.

Injury Concerns Hurt his Draft Stock

Carson was the second to last running back taken in the 2017 draft but still might be one of the best running backs to come out of the class.

One of the big reasons that his draft stock fell was because of injury concerns. Carson tore his ACL in high school, a sprained ankle that bothered him in 2015, and a broken thumb in 2016 that cut his senior short.

Carson broke his ankle during his rookie season with the Seahawks but last season was able to stay healthy and proved what he can do with a full year.

The hope is that he can stay healthy going forward and rise to be one of the best running backs in the league.

Style On and Off the Field is Different

Off the field, Carson is soft-spoken, and reporters often have problems hearing what he is saying during interviews.

On the field, he is a bruising back that loves to seak out the contact and tries to run over his defenders.

He isn't the biggest running back in the league, but he is one of the toughest to take down. Last season Carson led the league in broken tackles with 58, which was two ahead of Saquon Barkley. It's a demanding style of play, but Carson has proven that he is excelling at it.

Also Loves Basketball

When Carson isn't playing football, there is somewhere else where you can probably find him, on the basketball court.

Carson loves playing basketball and spent most of his childhood looking up to LeBron James. Although he didn't ever really consider playing basketball during college because football has always been the first choice, Carson still loves to hoop.

If Carson can continue to play like he did last season maybe he can be a star in Seattle like James has been his entire career. Only time will tell with how good Carson can be, but so far it looks like he is on the path to being a star.
