With their season on the line, the Green Bay Packers brought perhaps their best effort of the year in a 27-13 victory over the Eagles. Aaron Rodgers, who has performed at a high level despite the team's struggles over the last few weeks, shined once again, completing 30 of 39 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns.

His counterpart, rookie Carson Wentz, performed well early before Green Bay's pass rush took over. He finished with 254 passing yards, a rushing touchdown, and one interception.

It was far from Wentz' best performance of the season. Early in the year, after leading the Eagles to a 3-0 start, the 2nd overall pick received heaps of praise from media and players, past and present. That has slowed some as Philly has slipped down to 5-6, due in large part to deficiencies along the offensive line and their receiving core, as well as a depleted secondary.

Rodgers' approval

Still, Rodgers was quite complimentary of Carson Wentz following Monday's showdown. From Turron Davenport of USA TODAY's Eagles Wire:

“He is an amazing kid, very cerebral beyond his years.”

“His athleticism is what stands out in there,” Rodgers explained. “Just seeing in person tonight, he extends plays with his feet. That’s a big weapon as a quarterback. But also, he can stand in there and make plays from the pocket. I think his ceiling is extremely high and Eagles fans should be very excited for the future.”
