Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond has been fined $15,000 by the league after striking the back of Charlotte Hornets center Roy Hibbert on Tuesday, the league announced on Thursday.

The incident took place after Hornets point guard Kemba Walker took a three-pointer after shedding his defender, Ish Smith. Drummond intended to get rebounding position and hit Kaminsky with his elbow in the back of the head as the ball went through the net.

The 23-year-old was assessed a Flagrant 2 foul upon review of the play and got ejected from the contest barely midway through the second quarter.

Drummond laughed to himself over the call as he exited the floor, clapping as he passed his teammates on the sidelines.

After the game, the second leading rebounder in the NBA insisted he wasn't a dirty player after the game, but the league was forced to sanction him as they would with any other Flagrant 2 incident.
