In a game that appeared to be decided early on, Westbrook was still in during some of the final minutes. That left some people wondering if Thunder head coach Billy Donovan is in on the triple-double pursuit for Russ.
Asked Billy Donovan about chasing triple-doubles. Donovan: "He (Westbrook) understands we’re trying to pursue something bigger than that." pic.twitter.com/UhvaApWqAI

The game wasn’t the biggest blowout ever so it wasn’t unheard of for Russ to remain in during the final minutes. It’s interesting to note that Donovan claims to be pretty much unaware how close Russ is to triple-doubles during the games. But as a coach it’s not his job to focus on individual stats during that time.
Westbrook also responded to this question.
Westbrook is asked if he's aware he's when he's nearing a triple-double: "I just play, bro"

Typical Westbrook fashion there.
Russ is on pace to finish the season averaging a triple-double. It will be an incredible feat, whether or not there’s some stat padding going on.
