In the last couple of weeks of the ongoing Carmelo Anthony saga with the New York Knicks, the Portland Trail Blazers have emerged as a team interested in acquiring the All-Star forward.

During a recent interview with Marc Berman of the New York Post, Blazers forward Evan Turner made his plea to the 10-time All-Star to waive his no-trade clause to come to Portland.

“If he waives it and wants to come, it would be great,’’ Turner said. “He’ll lock in because he made the decision to come. He’s got all the power in a certain sense. It’s not a guarantee. The positive is if we did get him, that means he wanted to be there and accepted the trade and buckle into what we’re trying to do.

“Obviously he’s 6-8. He walks in a gym and he can throw 20 points up in the books. He’s so talented, so big, you can’t leave him alone. He doesn’t miss easy shots.”

Turner is the latest Blazers player to publicly voice his desire for Anthony to agree to a move to the team. Both Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum voiced their hopes that the 33-year-old would be willing to come to Portland in a trade.

The Blazers do possess an intriguing young talent that could get the ball rolling in the right direction. However, all of that could be hindered by Anthony holding one of three no-trade clauses in the league.

His addition could possibly push Portland into the conversation as a legitimate challenge to dethrone the high-powered Golden State Warriors. Although it's an interesting potential landing spot, it appears that Anthony has his mind set on joining the Houston Rockets at some point this offseason.
