The Philadelphia 76ers‘ rookie Dario Saric will begin his first NBA season at the age of 22.

While that might signify a kid just coming fresh out of college, that isn't necessarily where Saric stands.

He's coming to Philadelphia young, but with plenty of experience on his resume already.

Coach Brett Brown has done his homework on Saric and tells reporters that he is no kid in the ordinary sense.

He sort of contradicts his birth certificate in that his basketball experiences are rich. He’s not a kid. He’s no kid. He’s 22, but he’s no kid.

Saric began playing professionally at the age of 19 in his native country Croatia. It was there that he won MVP of the 2010 FIBA Europe Under-16 Championship and 2012 U-18 Championship, as well as consecutive winner of the FIBA European Young Player of the Year award (2013-14).

Brown also says his 6-foot-10 forward is used to playing big roles already, and he has to figure out how to best utilize him along with the team.

He’s played in the EuroLeague. He’s played in the Turkish National League, one of the top three leagues … he played a prominent role throughout Rio de Janeiro

I said it this summer and I’ll say it again, we’re learning. To come in here and say we know exactly how this is going to work, I’m not doing that because that’s not true. You think maybe he’ll go to a three and he’ll do something as a four and sometimes you want to play small ball, he can play a five. You’re just continuing to learn about these guys as they all finally have real time experiences on the court together.

This year will be another addition to Saric's resume, and the Sixers cannot wait to get started.
