When he signed with the Milwaukee Bucks during the summer of 2015 for three years, $50 million, Greg Monroe had high hopes that he will be the team's center of the future and can continue to play solid basketball like he did during his first five seasons in the league with the Detroit Pistons.

However, only after playing a full season for the Bucks, Monroe has fallen out of head coach Jason Kidd‘s rotation and has struggled to fit in his system. He is now playing off the bench behind starter John Henson and averaging only 19.3 minutes per game. Although he is still producing decent numbers given his short playing time with 9.3 points and 6.8 rebounds, the team feels they are not getting a good return of investment as they are paying him $17.3 million this year.

The 26-year-old Georgetown product has consistently been involved in a lot of trade chatter since last summer and linked to a number of teams. Just recently, news surfaced that the team is still looking to move him, but having difficulty in doing so even if he is one of the better centers of the league today since the amount of his contract is one of hurdles that makes it hard for other franchises to sign him.

Monroe has proven that he can be a double-double performer night in and night out in the past and just needs to find a team that he can fit in to resurrect his career.

His situation with the Bucks is definitely something worth monitoring in the next few months and it will be very interesting to find out what the Bucks get in return should they be successful in moving the young, 6-foot-11 big man.
