New York Knicks star forward Carmelo Anthony didn't stay quiet for long after swaying away from the media's questions about team president Phil Jackson after a blowout loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.

Jackson had previously made comments regarding the nine-time All-Star, saying that he held on to the ball for longer than what he'd consider ideal. Anthony refused to answer questions regarding the quote after the game.

The Baltimore native took to Instagram and made a post on Thursday afternoon that read: “EGO is the only requirement to destroy any relationship. So be a BIGGER person, skip the “E” and let it “GO.”

Some wise words from Anthony that can be taken as a subtle shot at Jackson and his ego, who can't seem to keep quiet, despite holding an even more powerful position than he's had in the past.

The Zen Master has been known for taking shots at people fearlessly, including his own players — the difference now is that he's not in an everyday working environment as he used to be as a head coach, making these shots a lot more personal and all the more unnecessary.
