Yesterday, Tracy McGrady made headlines when he said that Stephen Curry‘s unanimous MVP is a sign that the league is watered down. His statement wasn't supposed to be a kn0ck on Curry, but rather on the overall talent of the league as a whole.

Now, another former star NBA player is expressing essentially the same exact sentiments.

On this morning's Dan Patrick Show, Inside the NBA's Charles Barkley delivered yet another hot take on the state of the game. From Barkley:

“The NBA is watered down. The NBA is the worst I’ve ever seen it.”

While arguments can be made on both sides of this conversation, the timing is peculiar given that Barkley just witnessed two of the best teams in the NBA, the San Antonio Spurs and Oklahoma City Thunder, duking it out in Game 5. Sure, it wasn't the prettiest game of the series, but it still featured immense star power across the board.

Perhaps it's the evolution of professional basketball that's impacting former players' perceptions of the association, because more and more of them have similarly negative opinions about the overall health of the game. Not that guys like Kevin Durant, Kawhi Leonard, LeBron James, and Stephen Curry care too much about what they have to say; they're too busy demonstrating their world class abilities.
