Chris Copeland is suing the nightclub 1OAK, where he was stabbed last year when arguing with his fiance' turned into an objection of a stranger intervening and a stabbing.

Copeland was partying at the nightclub with Thabo Sefolosha, when he got into the argument with Shevoy Bleary-Murdock when leaving 1 OAK.

Pending the case, Copeland and his former fiance' Katrine Saltara (who was also stabbed in the arm and chest) are suing the club, claiming security allowed Murdock to bring a switchblade into the building, and  failed to stop the assault.

Copeland had surgery for his (stabbed in the abdomen and elbow) wounds, while Saltara is possibly opting for surgery to repair deep scars.

The lawsuit is seeking unspecified damages, and there has been little comment since the charges have been filed. This is the same night and location that both Atlanta  Hawks players Pero Antic and Thabo Sefolosha were arrested by the police. Sefolosha also has a pending lawsuit against the NYPD in a separate matter.

Chris Copeland has played for the Indiana Pacers, the New York Knicks, the Milwaukee Bucks, and was recently released, picked up by the Orlando Magic and waived.
