One of the biggest questions of the NBA offseason pertains to where Toronto Raptors superstar Kawhi Leonard will sign in free agency. While numerous teams are after him, this has long been considered a two-team race between the Raptors and Los Angeles Clippers, with Toronto gaining momentum thanks to its first-ever NBA title.

The Clippers have been recruiting Leonard hard all season, and there was a time where many thought it was inevitable that the superstar would wind up there. However, forward Danilo Gallinari is now doubting Leonard leaves the Raptors after bringing a title to Toronto:

Leonard just finished off a historically great playoff run with his second Finals MVP award. He has been treated like a rock star in Toronto, getting endless love during the championship parade and throughout the city in the days since the title. While he may be feeling the pull from his hometown of Los Angeles, leaving Toronto would be tough after everything that has happened.

The Raptors are the only team that can offer Leonard a five-year, $190 million max contract, though he could also go the short-term contract route in order to at least run it back for one season.

The Clippers would surely be disappointed to miss out on Leonard this summer, but they'd still have plenty of cap space and could pivot to other options. LA was one of the best stories in the NBA this past season, and the franchise has a good infrastructure in place to enjoy success for years to come.
