Last week, San Francisco 49ers head coach Chip Kelly voiced his support for Colin Kaepernick‘s protest against racial inequality. A columnist from the Santa Rose Press Democrat attempted to get Kelly to rip Kaepernick with his line of questioning, but Chip quickly caught on and expressed solidarity with his backup quarterback.

That action did not go unnoticed from Kaepernick's end. Following the 49ers' loss to the Seahawks on Sunday, Colin praised Kelly for having his back.

From Tim Kawakami of the San Jose Mercury News:

“I think he’s a strong man,” Kaepernick said of Kelly. “I don’t know if he realizes how much that means to me and if he realizes how much that means to these people, to these communities.

“The fact that he was willing to take a strong stand and say these things aren’t right, and that’s huge coming from a head coach.”
