The L.A. Clippers surprised a lot of people this summer when they agreed to trade Chris Paul to the Houston Rockets. They received four proven rotation players in exchange for his services, and were also able to add Danilo Gallinari to their fold, following the blockbuster deal. That said, Doc Rivers feels his team even became a more formidable unit.

The veteran head coach was recently asked to give his thoughts on the roster he has now, and admitted, via Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, that he believes they have more talent and they did not take a step back with the moves they made.

Although Paul is widely considered as one of the best point guards in the NBA today, the Clippers were able to address their need at the small forward spot, with the signing of Gallinari. His ability to also play power forward provides them more versatility by having and a big floor spacer, giving Blake Griffin and DeAndre Jordan more room to operate inside the paint.

The only difficulty they might face is their players adjusting to each other’s games and how quickly they can adapt to the system of Rivers. It’s expected that they will have new sets this coming season, which they will all need to learn quickly to boost their chances of proving their doubters wrong.
