Post-game lamentations were in order following a two-point loss at the hands of Joe Johnson and the Utah Jazz, as the L.A. Clippers start their first-round best-of-seven series with a loss.

Diving into the specifics, reporters asked Clippers head coach Doc Rivers if he considered running down the clock for the final shot when down two points with 18.7 seconds left in the game.

“Who would do that?” Rivers asked, shocked to hear the question. “That makes no sense. That is like, the dumbest thing I've ever heard.”

“When you're down two, you try to score. You don't wait. You score. If you can score in one second, you score. You always do that. And if you can find another coach to tell you different, I want to meet him.”

A 1-5 All-Star pick-and-roll between Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan had its desired result, scoring in a mere 5.6 seconds as Paul banked in a floater.

The Jazz had 13 seconds to work with before Johnson hit the game-winning shot with ice flowing through his veins.

Good defense, better offense. Simple as can be.
