Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green will miss tonight's game against the Brooklyn Nets as he's flown back to the Bay Area for the birth of his son, the team announced.

Green's status for the next two road games is yet to be determined. His son, Draymond Jamal Green Jr., was born on Thursday at 3:55 a.m. PT.

Andre Iguodala and David West are both candidates to get the nod to start in place of Green, which could mean several minutes at power forward for Kevin Durant and plenty of ideas for head coach Steve Kerr to tinker with.

The Warriors (25-4) will likely try to put an emphasis on defense as they have done so the last few games, including limiting the Utah Jazz to a season-low 74 points on Tuesday.

Green's absence will greatly test Golden State's ability to defend efficiently and keep fouls to a minimum while doing so. He leads the team in rebounds (8.8), assists (7.2), and steals (2.3) while averaging 10.6 points.

The Warriors play the Detroit Pistons on Friday (game which he could potentially miss) before facing off against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Christmas Day in a rematch of the last two NBA Finals.
