Chicago Bulls new signing Dwyane Wade is slowly acclimating to his new surroundings, including teammates.

Amongst them, is third-year forward Doug McDermott, who made a splash last season with more significant minutes under new coach Fred Hoiberg.

“Not only the way he shoots the ball and how fast he shoots it, but the way he puts the ball on the floor as well shows his athletic ability,” Wade told K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune. “Just by playing against him and now seeing his confidence in his game, the kid's tough.”

The Creighton alum shot a healthy 45.2% from the field last season and an impressive 42.5% from deep, bolstering the Bulls' outside shooting off the bench.

McDermott only averaged 9.4 points per game and was hasn't provided much other than consistent shooting which helped the Bulls stay in games toward the end of the season.

With Taj Gibson and Bobby Portis occupying backup roles at the three and four spots, it'll be hard for him to find an increase in minutes despite having a good showing in his last campaign.

If injuries were to hit the two, Doug McDermott would likely play around 30 minutes in a support role and could stick a permanent gig if his hot-shooting convinces the man at the helm.
