George Karl‘s soon-to-be-released book, “Furious George” is continuing to be a source of a lot of controversy after his rant against players who were under his mentorship in the past.

However, his negative comments now include players who have never played for him, like Portland Trail Blazers star guard Damian Lillard. The former NBA head coach recently talked about what he thinks is wrong with the Blazers and said that it's because Lillard is getting too much attention.

“I was watching the Portland Trailblazers play, and I was trying to figure out, ‘What the hell is wrong with this team?’ My conclusion is that Damian Lillard is getting too much attention….Who controls the team? The coach and the point guard. And that team is not working. I think their coach, Terry Stotts, is a great coach. So I’m going to say the problem is Lillard. They were a together, connected, committed team last year. This year they’re not. What changed?”

Portland's head coach, Terry Stotts, did not take George's comments lightly and came to his point guard's defense. He asked Karl to keep mum on the situation of his team as he does not know what's really going on with them.

Lillard's agent, Aaron Goodwin, also fired back at Karl and went as far as calling him an “idiot” for his unexpected comments directed at his client.

With the attention the book is already getting at this point, it won't be surprising at all if it will sell a lot of copies once it officially releases on January 10, but will also make George lose a lot of friends from the NBA community.
