Known for his relaxed nature and unfeasible attitude, San Antonio head coach seemed uncharacteristically emotional when he stated “he hated Steve Kerr” before their opening night matchup. But of course, Pop was just joking around.
Before the game Pop told the media:
Pop's getting weird now: "I hate Steve Kerr. If he asks me anything, I tell him to go urinate in a bucket.”

Will this finally be the year we see Popovich open up to the media? The West's elite will once again be the Spurs and Warriors, and with Kerr a former player for the Spurs, it doesn't seem like their friendship has faded despite the competition.
Popovich's Spurs raced out to a strong start against the Warriors in the opening night game, taking a 97-77 lead into the fourth quarter.
