Despite all the trade rumors that surrounded Paul Millsap before the deadline in February, Atlanta Hawks team owner Tony Ressler recently made it known that they still want him to remain with the team.

The 57-year-old businessman spoke about the impending free agency of the four-time All-Star, and said they will do their best to re-sign him, as they know how valuable he is to the Hawks. He even went as far as saying they will make “every effort imaginable” just to make sure Millsap will consider continuing his career in Atlanta.

There were multiple reports that the Hawks were looking to deal the 6-foot-8 forward, however, head coach and team president Mike Budenholzer shot it all down by saying they want him to stay put. It can even be recalled that the two had a meeting to discuss the rumors, which allowed the team's front office to let him know about their plans come summertime, should he ultimately opt out of the final year in his current contract.

Millsap once again had a very solid regular season with averages of 14.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.3 steals, and 1.0 blocks per game. He has been very instrumental to the Hawks' success, and made it possible for them to finish with the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference.
