Despite appearing in only two games last week for the Philadelphia 76ers, Joel Embiid still got a nomination for the Player of the Week award because of his stellar play.

The 22-year-old Cameroonian was given additional rest and sat out two games for his team last week. But in his two games played, he continued to impress with 14 points, nine rebounds, one block, and one steal in only 19 minutes against the Utah Jazz and 25 points, seven rebounds, two assists, and one block, in 25 minutes against the Indiana Pacers.

The Sixers are taking a cautious approach on their promising center's condition after spending the last two seasons recovering from a pair of foot injuries. The team is looking to preserve his health in hopes of making a run at the playoffs in the near future.

Embiid has been playing great at the start of the season with averages of 18.8 points, 6.8 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 2.3 blocks per game in very limited time.
