They may have a fighting chance to finish with the top seed in the East, but the 26-year-old Kentucky product understands things will not be easy from here on out. He then admitted via The Undefeated’s Marc J. Spears that he and his team will be content for now if they’ll reach the Eastern Conference Finals.
“Our main goal is to get to the conference finals. We feel like we should have been there before if nobody got injured. Our goal is to get there.”
He was also asked if he thinks the Wizards can win the title this year and he gave a very honest answer.
“It’s a long shot. Nobody would think about it the way we started. Like I always say, you never know what can happen. It’s all about being healthy. It’s all about being the hot team … In seven games (in a playoff series), let’s see who can win four games first.”
Wall may be right about not knowing what will happen in the future, but one thing they have control on right now is winning as many games as they can to have a lot momentum going into the playoffs. If their confidence will be high and no doubts will creep in, they might just be able to reach the conference finals, and may even go a step further should luck will be on their side. With Wall and his backcourt mate, Bradley Beal, leading their charge, it gives them a lot of reason to believe the target is within reach.
