The Miami Heat just took an unfortunate hit with the latest news concerning one of its players’ health.
According to The Vertical’s Shams Charania, Josh Richardson suffered a torn MCL during a recent workout. Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald provided additional details on how it happened.

… Richardson sustained the injury while going up for a dunk and landing awkwardly. Most Heat players have been working out at AA Arena.

This takes the promising young guard out of portions of the team’s training camp.
Richardson showed great flashes last season, averaging 10.2 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.9 assists while shooting 53% from long distance after the All-Star break
The encouraging news is that he figures to still play a big part in Miami’s offense when the regular season kicks off, especially with the departure of former resident superstar Dwyane Wade.
