Despite having his best season as a pro this year, Julius Randle understands what he needs to improve on to take his game to an even higher level.

With the Los Angeles Lakers‘ campaign now over, the 22-year-old Kentucky product is now focusing on the things he will work on this summer. That includes more conditioning drills to get him in better shape, and also try to improve on his defense, which he admits is a work in progress in his game.

Following his disastrous first season in the NBA, where he played a few minutes in his debut before being forced to watch on the sidelines with a broken right tibia, Randle has shown no ill effects from the injury that took him out of his entire rookie year. He suffered it only 14 minutes into the campaign and had to undergo surgery to repair the fracture.

He just completed his third season, and Randle has showed a lot of progress and produced impressive numbers, with averages of 13.2 points, 8.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Even if the Lakers ended up with the third-worst record in the league, he has been able to prove himself as capable of being a star in the future. If he continues to improve his game and add more facets to his skill set, it will not only help him become a better player, but will also speed up his team's rebuilding process to become perennial contenders once again.
