Kendrick Perkins recently made an appearance on The Vertical Podcast with Adrian Wojnarowski to talk basketball and give his thoughts on Kevin Durant’s decision to join the Golden State Warriors.

Perkins of course was a former teammate of Durant and Russell Westbrook after spending a number of years with them in Oklahoma City. He was a big voice in that Thunder locker room.

If Perkins ever had a role in their relationship right now, he could be considered the big brother of the group.

Knowing the relationship the two players had, Perkins says he is disturbed by the news that they are no longer on speaking terms, although both players deny there is a rift between them.

“With them not talking right now, that bothers me,” Perkins said. “Because I know both of them, they care for each other and love each other, despite the decision that KD made. With me reading an article saying that they haven’t talked to each other, that bothers me. Because I know that their relationship off the court and on the court had grew [sic] way past that. So them not being talking right now, that bothers me personally.”

Kendrick Perkins might be the one to help bridge the gap between them – although Perkins himself acknowledged that the duo never worked out because they didn't value each other.

Other teammates such as Enes Kanter have taken to social media numerous times to take shots at Durant, but this time a teammate has taken the stance that he wants to see amends be made.

Only time will tell if amends can ever be made.
