Ex-Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin went from Twitter to TV to address George Karl‘s comments about him and his former teammates in his new book Furious George.

In an interview with Fox Sports 1 Undisputed, the rim-rattling power forward discussed the underlying consequences of his former coach lashing out at the likes of Carmelo Anthony, J.R. Smith, and himself after a long coaching career.

“Kenyon and Carmelo carried two big burdens: all that money and no father to show them how to act like a man,” Karl wrote in his book.

These excerpt from the book set Martin on a Twitter rampage shortly after catching wind of them.

The 38-year-old former player explained his thought process during the show.

“It's very personal in my opinion,” said Martin. “You're taking a shot at my mom. You're taking a shot at the way she raised me and other single mothers out there. You're taking a shot at them.”

Martin was only one of many players that came at the defense of themselves and their former teammates, while no one has yet to back Karl up in his statements — not even himself.

“I turned out well,” Martin added. “My mother was my mother and my father. For [him] to say that, [he] is disrespecting her. So I'm here to stand up for her… I'm a grown man and I'm here to address situations as they are, so I'm here to defend my mother in that aspect.”
