Kevin Durant has already been in the NBA for 9 seasons and has seen many teammates come and go.

Two of his longest-tenured teammates that come to mind are Russell Westbrook, who was his teammate for eight years, and Nick Collison, who was KD's teammate his entire career until this season.

But when asked recently about his favorite teammate of all-time, it wasn't one of the two mentioned above. Durant instead named former Oklahoma City Thunder center Kendrick Perkins, who was with the team for 5 seasons.

KD appeared on Any Given Wednesday With Bill Simmons and talked about his relationship with the former 27th overall pick of the 2003 draft, who he looks up to as his big brother:

“He would call me after every game, and we’d be on the phone until probably two o’clock in the morning. And it’d be a bunch of nothing he’ll be talking to me about. And it was just like, man, that’s my big brother right there. He’s going through something, and he’s calling me. So, I miss those calls.”

“He’s the greatest. Everybody loves him.”

After being traded to the Utah Jazz in the 2014-15, Perkins was then waived by the team and decided to join the Cleveland Cavaliers, where his teammates also raved about him being a great locker room presence. Last season Perkins played for the New Orleans Pelicans and mentored their young guns, including budding superstar, Anthony Davis.

Perkins' production has dwindled from his days with the Boston Celtics, where he was a champion in 2008. Being one of the more popular guys in the league among other players, the 6-foot-10 center continues to generate interest from teams not for his production on the court, but rather by being the leader and big brother to his teammates, just like how he was for Kevin Durant.
