Kevin Durant‘s impending return to the lineup would be a sigh of relief for the organization as they rev up play prior to the 2017 playoffs. The Golden State Warriors will need to keep their blades sharp and their horses healthy prior to the war the Western Conference playoffs are bound to be.

His return comes 40 days after suffering a Grade 2 MCL sprain and a tibial bone bruise of his left knee in the opening minute of Golden State's game against the Washington Wizards. The Warriors gave a timeline of four weeks before his re-evaluation, which granted him another week of on-court workouts to get back to basketball shape.

“I was just focused everyday in rehab trying to do my best, trying to push myself in whatever I did that day and getting better,” Durant told reporters of his focus during the rehabilitation period. “My favorite thing to do is to play basketball, so to be away… it was different, it was tough, but I looked at the big picture and I figured that at some point I'd get better and that day is here and I'm thankful.”

Durant claimed the team was on great rhythm prior to his injury, but got tested after he was hurt, saying the team would've struggled regardless of who got hurt because of how often they rely on each other to win.

The 2014 MVP will return on Saturday, but likely won't play alongside the reigning MVP Stephen Curry, who is doubtful with a left knee contusion. The injury was deemed as minor by the organization, thing which doesn't have Durant worried in the least.

“I played 59 games with Steph, 58 games,” said Durant. “That's a lot of games. I know a lot of people made it seem like I got here yesterday, but I've been here the whole season and I've played with Steph long enough.”
