The Kings have, in recent years, been viewed as a dysfunctional organization without a clear focus, and they’ve done nothing to change that with this trade. They had a chance to show class after the trade but opted to fly in their new prized players Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans and Langston Galloway to Sacramento on a commercial flight. On the other hand, Cousins and Omri Casspi received VIP treatment as his new team’s owner personally picked them up on private plane with head coach Alvin Gentry to bring him to New Orleans.

It still remains unclear why the Kings opted to have them take a commercial flight and not send their team’s private plane instead, but it is definitely something not usual for teams to do, especially for players they have just recently acquired in a trade.
The Sacramento faithful are hoping there’s a good explanation for it as they do not want to leave a bad impression, not just to the three, but also to future free agents. It’s indeed weird considering Kings’ owner Vivek Ranadive considers rookie Buddy Hield ‘the next Stephen Curry.’
