The Sacramento Kings and Miami Heat are exploring a possible trade that would send Rudy Gay and Darren Collison in exchange for Goran Dragic, according to Michael Scotto of Basketball Insiders.

Gay has been very vocal about his discontent with the organization, so the Kings will look to move him to try and avoid the $14.2 million player-option he'll have next season.

The 30-year-old had a down year by his high standards, but still boasts respectable numbers with 17.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.4 steals per game.

Sacramento has also been wanting to cut the cord on Collison, especially after his domestic battery incident, so it only makes sense to bundle the two to cut their losses and get a point guard to start over Ty Lawson, who at this point is a virtual loss in trade value.

Dragic still has plenty to offer as he took his game to the next level during last year's playoffs, averaging 18.9 points and 5.3 rebounds against the Toronto Raptors in the second round.

If Miami becomes successful in getting rid of Dragic and acquiring a small forward like Gay, it could hamper the development of second-year forward Justise Winslow, as him and Gay play the same position, unless Gay takes him under his wing.

While Miami would be getting the better end as far as sheer value, the pieces don't necessarily fit and it just looks like yet another desperate move by Pat Riley that isn't moving the team forward.
