The Sacramento Kings have been one of the worst teams in the NBA. The Kings are currently 18-39 in the Western Conference. After trading DeMarcus Cousins last season, the Kings saw the transaction as an opportunity to begin a quick rebuild through the NBA Draft.

Rightfully so, the Kings selected De'Aaron Fox with the fifth pick of the 2017 NBA Draft. So far, the Kings have not fared well in the season, even with Fox's added production. The lefty point guard is currently averaging 11.3 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 4.3 assists per game for the Kings.

As the team's starting point guard of the future, the Kings obviously need Fox on the floor to develop him into a superstar in the future. However, against the Rockets on Wednesday night, Fox suffered a nasty head injury in the closing seconds of the game, per the team's official Twitter account.

De'Aaron Fox is currently receiving stitches above his right eye and chin after making contact with the floor during the waning moment's of tonight's game at Houston. More info will be provided as it’s made available.

It isn't clear if Fox will miss any time due to this injury. But right now, it appears to be serious. Head injuries are especially taken seriously by teams and the league, so Fox will likely go through the concussion protocol when more information has been given.

Hopefully, Fox will make a speedy recovery and get back on the court. The Kings have been dismal all year and could sure build on some bright spots in their otherwise horrible NBA season.
