The Golden State Warriors are one team that is simply on a roll.

After handing the Cleveland Cavaliers a blowout loss on Sunday night, the Warriors have now won five consecutive playoff games after trailing the Oklahoma City Thunder 3-1 in the Western Conference Finals. Simply put, their confidence is riding high after moving to a 2-0 series advantage over the Cavs in the NBA Finals.

Klay Thompson, who is arguably the key reason why the Warriors were able to advance to the NBA Finals, made a bold statement when asked about his team's place in NBA history following the game:

This was obviously a jab made mostly in a playful tone, considering Klay's dad, Mychal Thompson, played five years with the Los Angeles Lakers in the late 80's and early 90's. The elder Thompson won two championships with the Lakers in '87 and '88 and played in two other Finals while Mychal was there.

However, it is a discussion worth revisiting if the Warriors are to win their second consecutive championship this year. While the “Showtime Lakers” won a staggering five championships during the 80's, this Golden State team is breaking records and re-innovating the way basketball is being played across the league.

While some old-school NBA fans may not want to admit it, this Warriors team may go down as the best of all time if they are able to win the 2016 NBA Finals.
