Before Game 5 of last seasons NBA Finals, Golden State Warriors star, Klay Thompson, took the media to label LeBron James a snitch.

LeBron had godly numbers throughout the entire series, eventually leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to the first ever Finals comeback from a 3-1 deficit. Fans will finally get to the see the Finals rematch on Christmas Day.

Klay Thompson took to the media this week to address the comments he made during the Finals, and if he thought they gave LeBron James extra motivation or ammunition, leading to the Warriors’ biggest collapse in NBA history.

“I don’t think LeBron really went to sleep, pinned that up and used that for motivation. But if he did, it’s all right,” Thompson said. “We still had three opportunities to close it out, and we didn’t. So, I don’t think that was the game-changer.”

With the result of the first title in the 46 year history of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Thompson is of the firm belief that his words had nothing to do with LeBron’s incredible output.

“No. Not at all. Because, at the end of the day, you have to go out there and do it on the court,” he said. “It doesn’t matter what was said. We lost. We moved on. We’re excited about this year.”

Thompson made these afformentioned comments prior to Game 5 of the NBA Finals, a day that the Warriors were one win away from taking the NBA Championship in back-to-back years. They were attempting to do so without Draymond Green, who had been suspended for the night due to the accumulation of flagrant fouls.

During Game 4 of the Finals, James and Green got into a heated argument in the middle of the Quicken Loans Arena floor. James proceeded to step over Green, which resulted in Draymond taking a signature swipe at the King’s jewels.

In an absolute fury James went after Green, but was quickly dragged away by teammates and officials.

The media got a hold of the four time MVP after the game, where James would say that Green said something disrespectful to him that was “a little overboard.” With Green one flagrant foul away a one game suspension, it was thought that LeBron was bringing a little more attention to the play than needed, trying to draw the league into a series changing decision.

After the news surfaced that Green had called James a “b—h”, Green was suspended, and the Cavs would hand the Warriors a defeat on their home floor.

“Obviously people have feelings. People’s feelings get hurt if they’re called a bad word. I guess his feelings just got hurt,” Klay Thompson said the media prior to Game 5.

A war of words would be exchanged between Cavs and Warriors players, to the media and online, leading to one of the most exciting NBA Finals in recent history.

The day has finally come where we get to see the rematch of two of the best teams in the league, a day that will see one of the supporters bases Christmas’ ruined.
