The New York Knicks are one of the few teams in the league to have undergone a massive overhaul of their roster, having only five players coming back from last season.

The additions of Derrick Rose, Joakim Noah, Courtney Lee, and Brandon Jennings are some of the most notable roster changes under head coach Jeff Hornacek and team president Phil Jackson.

But regardless of the talent on paper, the team has gotten plenty of skepticism from fans and experts around the league, wondering if the Knicks will be functional with so many assets trying to come together in so little time.

So much so, that the Knicks opened with 100-1 title odds at the Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas, a betting line that prompted more bets on the Knicks to win the championship than on any other NBA team, according to ESPN's David Purdum.

Due to those early bets, New York's title odds have gone down all the way to 60-1 at Westgate, and reportedly down to 20-1 at MGM SportsBooks.

There have been numerous bets on the Knicks, but very minor. MGM's assistant sportsbook manager Jeff Sherman told Purdum that the average wager on the team is a mere $25.

The Knicks will likely need to make noise within their own conference in order to generate a bigger appeal for fans to put more money on them. Perhaps a top-four spot in the Eastern Conference this season would do the trick.
