Kristaps Porzingis admitted via Stefan Bondy of The New York Daily News, that his job will become more difficult if the nine-time All-Star will not be with the team anymore as he can space the floor and even get him open shots with his ability to break down the defense.
“I think it would make life harder for me on the court (if Anthony was traded). He makes stuff easier for me.”
The Latvian international is winless in eight games he has played in the NBA without Anthony alongside him. He certainly understands what the situation will be for him should he get traded. At only 21-year-old, he also knows there’s still a lot he can learn from Anthony before he becomes the leader of the Knicks.
“There’s still a lot more things I want to learn from Melo, so I would love to have him around for a long time. I always love playing with Melo.”
With trade talks intensifying even more with the trade deadline approaching, the New York faithful are hoping their 7-foot-3 forward is preparing himself for whatever may happen in the next few weeks as there is a big chance he’ll become the go-to-guy if Anthony gets moved.
