It is an undisputed fact that D'Angelo Russell has ice in his veins, which the Los Angeles Lakers guard showcased yet again on Sunday against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Making a three-pointer at the buzzer thanks to a friendly roll to give Los Angeles the 110-109 victory over Minnesota, Russell ensured that the Lakers would pick up their 25th win of the season:

Russell's penchant for clutch shots is nothing new as the Lakers guard has already hit a few in his young career. But the game-winner against Minnesota was extra special for Russell. His grandmother had passed away earlier in the day and Russell dedicated the shot to her memory.

From Lakers.com:

“Honestly, I knew that’s what my grandma would have wanted,” Russell said of his decision to play. “My dad, my brothers — everybody wanted me to play. I wanted to get away from basketball.

“I didn’t want to express myself through basketball. But that’s the only option I kind of had, so I tried to take advantage of it.”

”She was a strong woman,” Russell said. “Like I said, she did a great job of raising my dad. Piggy-backing off that, my dad did a great job raising his sons and his kids in general; being a great father.

“That’s what she was put on this earth for.”

A touching tribute by Russell, who clearly played with a heavy heart.
