The two-time NBA champion spoke about his desire to coach the Los Angeles Lakers and be part of Luke Walton‘s staff. He admitted that he loves idea and that he had already reached out to his former teammate about possibly being one of his assistants.
With the current Lakers lineup featuring young, promising forwards Julius Randle, Larry Nance, Jr. and Brandon Ingram, they can certainly learn a lot from one of the more versatile forwards that has played for the franchise should he be hired by the team.
The 37-year-old Rhode Island product played seven seasons for the Lakers and appeared in 608 total games for them. He was an integral part of their back-to-back championship squads in 2009 and 2010 by providing energy and instant offense off the bench.
Odom’s fans are hoping this possibility could happen soon as they want him to go back to something he excelled at and help put all his troubles in the past.
