While many believe that LaVar Ball‘s recent string of controversial statements were all said to bring more attention to his sons, there may be a different reason after all.

According to a piece made by TMZ Sports, the 48-year-old is actively shopping the rights to air a reality show and documentary centered around his family. It also states that both projects may be part of his production company.

“We're told Ball has already cut a trailer for the documentary which centers around his family of young basketball superstars. The reality show is still in the development phase.”

“One source close to LaVar tells us the projects are both part of the “Big Baller Media” brand — LaVar's production company.

“We're told LaVar has been in talks with multiple outlets and has “several offers” but so far, no contracts have been signed.”

Ball has made a lot of headlines for his comical and even downright absurd comments. Although much of his statements have been about how highly he thinks of his sons, what has drawn a lot of criticism is in his delivery and how he compared them to some NBA greats. He was also ridiculed, especially on social media, when he claimed he could beat Michael Jordan in a game of one-on-one during his prime.

For what it's worth, should the projects come to fruition, it could be highly entertaining and even be considered “good” TV. Despite all the trolls he's getting, he is still much talked about and part of a lot of people's discussions these days, which could mean more viewers watching his shows.
