After receiving a lot of praise from members of Team USA, as well as its coaches, another big name, if not the biggest name in the NBA today, has given good words about the Phoenix Suns‘ guard Devin Booker.

It can be recalled that after the scrimmages between the senior team and the Select Team, which Booker was part of,  Klay Tompson, DeMarcus Cousins, and coaches Mike Kryzewski and Gregg Popovich spoke about the 19-year-old as they were all left impressed with his game and maturity that is beyond his years.

Now it was three-time NBA champion LeBron James‘ turn to speak highly about the former Kentucky Wildcat. Appearing on Uninterrupted's “Open Run” podcast, the four-time league MVP spoke to actor Jesse Williams and writer Stefan Marolachakis and was asked who has most impressed him among the young players today. Here are some excerpts:

Marolachakis: “Favorite, or like, to your eyes, most promising young gun in the league?”

Williams: “Unsigned hype.”

James: “That no one knows about? You know, what? I’m going to be honest. If it’s someone who is under the radar right now that I believe is going to be a really, really, really good, All-Star player in the league – it’s Devin Booker from the Phoenix Suns.”

Stefan: “Yes, yes, a lot of chatter.”

Booker made a good account of himself in his rookie season last year appearing in 76 games. He averaged 13.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.6 assists in 27.7 minutes per game. After the All-Star break, Booker's numbers ballooned to 19.2 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists as he saw an uptick in his minutes from 23, prior to the All-Star break, to 35 per game.

After his stint with the Select Team and a season of NBA experience under his belt, things are looking brighter than ever for the 6'6″ guard. If he improves his game especially his accuracy from three-point range, he will one of the better scorers the league will have in the years to come. And who knows, maybe even an All-Star as what LeBron James said.
