Before the season started, many wondered if James Harden could be as effective in his new role as point guard as he was as a shooting guard.

Houston Rockets head coach Mike D'Antoni made a lot of headlines during the summer when he revealed that his team's superstar would run the plays on the court and set his teammates up on the offensive end. Now with more than a quarter of games already played, the team is reaping the rewards of the bold move made by D'Antoni.

However, for one of the league's veteran shooting guards, he feels it's not really a new role for Harden. The San Antonio Spurs veteran Manu Ginobili commented on Harden prior to his team's game against the Rockets, which the Spurs won 102-100 on Tuesday. Ginobili claimed he believes Harden has already played the point guard role for the majority of his career before this season as he has the ball in his hands so much during games.

Harden is playing at a very high level this year and is proving that he can thrive as a point guard. With averages of 27.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 11.8 assists and 1.5 steals per game, he continues to show everyone that he is a multi-faceted player and a more than capable leader in helping his team get closer to their goal of contending for a championship.

What the real position he's playing may not be completely clear, but if there's one thing that's certain, it's that the the Houston faithful definitely do not lose sleep thinking about it. What's important is seeing their team win a lot of games and being in the best position come playoff time.
