News broke out on Monday morning about an incident where Sacramento Kings swingman Matt Barnes, who was accompanied by his teammate, DeMarcus Cousins, was allegedly involved in an altercation inside a New York City nightclub.

Barnes reportedly choked a woman and punched two other men who tried to break the argument. Police were not able to hear his side as he had left the club when they arrived but was wanted for questioning.

Just a few days after the said incident, the two NBA players have been sued after a lawsuit was filed by Jasmine Besiso and Myrone Powell. The two complainants are claiming that they were both attacked by them, with Barnes choking Besiso and Powell getting punched by Cousins.

This is certainly not good news for the Sacramento faithful who are already seeing their team struggle to string some wins together this season and are currently ranked 11th in the Western Conference with a 7-13 record.

The situation the teammates are involved in is definitely something worth monitoring especially on how they will respond to the charges filed against them. The Kings are hoping that this will not serve as a big distraction to their two starters as both are key players for them.
