After a promising showing in the recently concluded Rio Olympics, there’s no doubt in everyone’s mind that Australia will be a force to reckon with in 2020.

Not only do they boast of some young and electric talent, the Boomers are also lucky to have very solid players who know how to play basketball the right way, but with extra grit.

Milwaukee Bucks newcomer Matthew Dellavedova has become a household name for Aussie basketball fans over the past couple of years. His emergence as part of the Cleveland Cavaliers became his ticket to a lucrative contract with the Bucks.

But amidst all the good things that have happened to his career up to this point, he never forgets about his roots and, per Michael Randall of the Herald Sun, still yearns for the NBA to hold a game down under.

“All the boys are working on it, it's just a matter of whose teams are going to get out and play.”

“All the boys talk to the NBA and any chance we get we always make sure we mention (a game in Australia) and keep it fresh in their minds.”

There’s a handful of Australian players currently in the NBA and that number certainly boosts the level of interest from that region. When it finally happens, expect a rousing welcome from our passionate mates.
