The imminent return of Donatas Motiejunas will be put on hold yet again as “some issues” have delayed his return to the Houston Rockets after the team expected him to be available for Saturday night, according to Mark Berman of Fox 26.

Motiejunas is fresh off signing a four-year, $35 million contract with Houston after several months of back-and-forth discussions with the team, finally coming to an agreement on Friday morning.

“They're having trouble with some issues,” head coach Mike D'Antoni said. “I thought he would be here tonight. He's not.”

The 7-footer has been a royal pain in the Rockets' behind throughout the offseason and six weeks into the regular season. It's yet to be determined how D'Antoni plans to use him and how well in game shape he is after being away from the team.

Second-year forward Montrezl Harrell has played well recently backing up Ryan Anderson at the four-spot, but the team can never have too much shooting, a place where Motiejunas' skills will come in handy.

Assuming the situation clears up, he'll likely still have to earn some minutes under D'Antoni's system with veteran Nene also vying for playing time at the center position.
