Nick Young‘s future with the Los Angeles Lakers is still up in air, even though he's yet to be bought out or moved. His tenure with the franchise has started to sputter, and many fans are ready for the Purple & Gold to move on with their young core.

A lot could change for Young before the beginning of the season, including the current status of his relationship with D'Angelo Russell.

As you probably remember, a controversy arose when Russell sent out a video that he secretly recorded of Young admitting that he'd cheated on his fiancé, Iggy Azalea. In the immediate aftermath, D'Angelo was shunned by the rest of the team. He soon apologized, and Young reportedly accepted it, but the ill will between the former friends still proliferated.

Young and Azalea eventually broke up. Young didn't speak directly about Russell, but he made a number of cryptic tweets that implied that he still had beef with the Lakers' 2015 number two overall pick.

Now, about five months removed from the incident, Mark Medina of the LA Daily News reports that Swaggy P is finally moving on from the drama.

Per Medina:

Young also seemed at peace surrounding an incident that fueled frustration throughout a taxing 2015-16 season. Young maintained he no longer harbors animosity toward Lakers second-year guard D’Angelo Russell.

Young has since dismissed concerns on whether he could coexist with Russell, who represents a significant part of the Lakers’ young roster.

“We’re teammates,” Young told the Southern California News Group. “It’s been so long, so it’s kind of old.

“We’ll be able to work it out. We’ve already been working it out. It is what it is. I can’t be mad forever.”

Against all odds, these old friends might actually move past their differences, and as a result, Young just might stay in LA.
