Denver Nuggets head coach Michael Malone is hopeful to get shooting guard Will Barton back from a sprained ankle injury within a week to 10 days, according to Chris Dempsey of the Denver Post.

Barton has been a potent scorer in the lineup, averaging 18 points and five rebounds per game. The team is also without Wilson Chandler who is day-to-day with a hamstring injury — he averaged 20.7 points and 6.7 rebounds during a three-game stretch before the injury.

The 6-foot-6 Barton is coming off of his best NBA season, where he put up career-highs in points (14.4), rebounds (5.8), and assists per game (2.5), while finishing fourth in Sixth Man of the Year voting.

The team will heavily rely on the twin towers of Nikola Jokic and Jusuf Nurkic to carry the scoring load during his absence.

The Nuggets (3-3) will face the Memphis Grizzlies (3-4) on Tuesday at the FedEx Forum.
